Feelings of a daughter on the sudden demise of her mom in India- by Dr. Afshan Hashmi
As soon as plane landed in Delhi ,India there was a feeling of loss hit me and my husband and we both started weeping. Everybody around us in the aeroplane started asking what happened why are you so sad and we told them that I lost my mom. Met some very caring people in the plane who became our friends. Reached India and since then people are pouring in to offer their condolence to me and my husband for as many of you know that my mom left for her Heavenly abode two weeks back. How a daughter feels when her mom passes away the feeling is of huge loss engulfs but I believe everything should be taken in a positive manner as this is the wish of Almighty God. I feel very proud of my parents who have left a legacy which is very hard to emulate. I am thinking how could I become like my mother a philanthropy icon of India. The more good one does in this world the more one is prosperous. I am compiling all the condolence messages I am receiving and reading it gives me lot of support and inspiration to do more good like my parents Prof. A. Majid Siddiqi , Mrs. Jamila Siddiqi and my maternal grandfather Prof. Abdul Aleem in this world.
Today when one of my most favorite people on this earth Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameeruddin Shah the current Vice -Chancellor of AMU and his wonderful wife Sabiha Shah and their Bollywood actor son Mohammed Ali Shah a very close friend of mine visited me it gave me immense comfort as they are like a family to me.
